Here’s my most recent video - would love feedback.

Can you tighten up your intro sequence? I feel like 5 seconds is long enough for YouTube - you could trim out anything that's just face-to-camera, for example. Michael(2) 0

I would be a lot more conservative about music volume when dropping in video clips - like 50-60% in Ecamm - it's tricky because you can't really monitor the audio mix properly when self-producing! Michael(2) 0

Or maybe have the countdown pre-roll include the title sequence and then just get straight into the content? Michael(2) 0

I recorded this video to illustrate how I look and sound on professional video calls. I am interested in any suggestions you might have to improve my video presence.

I would look at your framing. You are low and far away in the frame. I would suggest thinking about thirds. Your eyes should be on the top third line of the frame. i can send you a framer if you'd like rabbidavidp(4) 2

Is there a way to get more light on you and (relatively) less on what's behind you? Either by rotating to face the window or with a nice big fill-light (tricky with reflections on glasses though). Michael(2) 1

Lots of advanced stuff going on but… I dunno… what should I fix next?

Looking at it now, it’s quite jittery. Maybe it’s all too much for my laptop.

Sort of lighting but can you move away from your background a little so most of the light is on you and there is distance and definition between you and your background? rabbidavidp(4) 0

[From Lois Richter] I think that while red and blue lights make an interesting BACKGROUND, they don't belong shining on a human face -- especially not on different sides. Michael(2) 0

As you said you look quite pale and washed out. I wonder if putting the colored lights on the background and adding a hair light might help rabbidavidp(4) 0

For some reason, could be lighting, the shot your getting isn’t clean and clear. Might just need to clean the teleprompter and fix the lighting. rabbidavidp(4) 0
