macOS Ventura and later

1. Plug in your iPad
2. Open System Settings
3. Go to General -> Sharing
4. Click the (i) next to Internet Sharing
5. Check any references to “iPad USB” and press Done
6. Click the switch next to Internet Sharing to turn it on
7. Confirm by pressing Start You should now have a more stable connection over USB.

macOS Monterey and earlier

1. Plug in your iPad
2. Launch System Preferences
3. Click on Sharing
4. Select “Internet Sharing”
5. Check all instances of “iPad USB”
6. Then turn on Internet Sharing with the checkbox
7. Click “Start” to confirm

You should now have a more stable connection over USB.
